Gardevoir
General Strategy
Gardevoir is a Pokemon that was blessed by Timi with 4 great moves and a game changing Unite move. There is no bad combination of moves and all of them are useful when used correctly. Be aware that Future Sight and Psyshock both reduce their cooldowns when hitting opponents and try to aim wisely, otherwise you will be left vulnerable for several seconds.
This Pokemon has very low health and defense stats, so it is important that you keep opponents at the edge of your move ranges. Try to position yourself behind a defender or all-rounder who can control the movement of opponents and stun them. If your frontline frequently moves opponents around, try to wait out their cooldowns and follow up with one of your moves to finish off the opponent.
You can auto attack while casting Psyshock, but be aware of your positioning and prioritize your own safety over auto attack damage if a dangerous opponent is moving closer to you.
Psychic damages, slows, and reduces the defense stats of opponents. Try to use this move before following up with Future Sight or Psyshock to deal increased damage and have an easier time hitting your target.
Moonblast stuns the first enemy it hits and damages them and any opponents behind them. This stun is long enough to land Future Sight or Psyshock so try to be ready to use them immediately after. If you don't have either move ready, use the stun as a chance to move out of your opponent's range and wait for your next opportunity.
Your Unite move, Fairy Singularity, is extremely powerful around objectives and map choke points, so try to setup an ambush and trap multiple enemies within it. Once the move is started, you can immediately follow up with both of your moves to maximize the possible damage. Due to the stun, it can also be used to prevent Pokemon (especially melee characters) from securing an objective, but be aware of which opponents have full heal or unstoppable abilities.
Items
Slick Spoon (Highly recommended)
Slick Spoon increases damage from all of your moves and is especially useful if you are not using Psychic. Even if you have hit enemies with Psychic, the increased special attack given by the item will boost your damage and the HP will increase survivability in the early game.
Energy Amp (Highly recommended)
Gardevoir's Unite move is a very powerful, gamechanging ult and can potentially KO many opponents if used in combination with your chosen moves. Energy Amp increases your damage and can pay extra dividends if you catch several opponents within the area of affect.
Choice Specs (Highly recommended when playing in Path)
Choice Specs improves your early game secures and damage against single opponents, while also provide a slight bump to your special attack stats.
Wise Glasses
Wise Glasses is a safe item choice that increases your power in the late game when Gardevoir's special attack stat is one of the highest in the game.
Shell Bell
Shell Bell provides the one thing that Gardevoir doesn't naturally have, healing, while also increasing your special attack and decreasing your move cooldowns. Several of Gardevoir's moves already have cooldown reduction mechanisms, so your benefit is somewhat limited but it can be helpful for when those moves miss.
Buddy Barrier
Buddy Barrier isn't the most useful item for Gardevoir due to its low base health but it can help to ensure that you get your full move combo out during an Energy Amp ult, while also improving your early game survivability.
Path strategy
Top and Bottom path (Decent)
Regardless of the direction that you choose, Gardevoir has one goal in path: reach level 5. Ralts is still a very weak path Pokemon and only gets a move upgrade at level 5, exchanging Teleport for either Future Sight or Psyshock which are both very strong moves. Once you reach level 5, try to play it safe and secure farm from a distance while using your chosen move to scare off opponents.
Central area (Best if your team does not have another good jungler)
Gardevoir benefits a lot from starting the game in the central area, nearly guaranteeing that it will have level 5 by the time it reaches a path. Due to the poor secure's in the early game, Ralts is very weak against jungle invasions so watch out if the opposing team has Pokemon that tend to invade.Â
